Privacy Policy
What we collect when you ring us, use this website or have a job done, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
Tyre Emergency Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15362025), based in Bilsthorpe, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG22 8GA. We are the controller of the personal information described here. For anything about your information, email contact@tyreemergency.com or call 01623 325123.
2. What we collect
- When you call us: your phone number, when you called, how long for and which of our numbers you rang. If you leave a voicemail, we keep the recording and a written transcript of it. If our automated assistant takes your call when nobody can answer, it keeps a written record of the conversation and the details you give it.
- When you ask us to ring you back on the website: your name, phone number and anything you write in the form.
- When we do a job: your name, phone number and email address, your vehicle's registration and details, where the job is, the work done, and photos of the work (for example of the tyres and wheel nuts).
- Your location: if you tap the "share your location" link we text you, your phone sends us where you are, so we can find you. It's only sent when you tap it.
- Payments: what you've paid and how. Card payments are taken by Stripe; we never see or keep your full card details.
- When you visit this website: the pages you look at, the device and browser you use, your IP address and, if you came from one of our Google ads, the ad click. See section 5 on cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To do the job you've asked for: to ring you back, find you, quote, carry out the work, invoice you and take payment. The law calls this performing a contract with you, or taking steps you've asked for before one.
- To keep our accounts: invoices and payment records, which the law requires us to keep.
- To run the business well: keeping a record of calls so nobody is forgotten, checking the quality of our work, dealing with complaints and warranty claims, seeing which of our adverts bring in work, and spotting fraudulent ad clicks. These are our legitimate interests, and we only use what's needed for them.
- To ask for a review after a job, by text. Reply or tell us and we won't send you any more.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing unless you've asked for it.
4. Who we share it with
Only the companies that provide the services we use to run the business, who handle your information on our behalf and under contract:
- Twilio (our phone lines and voicemail) and Webex (text messages)
- Stripe (card payments)
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads for this website, and our email)
- Anthropic (the AI that answers calls when nobody can, and reads photos and documents for us)
- The companies that host our website and our business system and keep encrypted backups of it (Cloudflare, Fly.io and Supabase)
- Vehicle and postcode lookup services, to find your vehicle's details from its registration and an address from a postcode
Some of these companies are based in, or store information in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contract clauses. We'll also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the police.
5. Cookies and this website
This website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. They set cookies and use similar technology to tell us how people use the site and whether they came from one of our adverts, so we know which adverts are worth paying for. Google's own use of this is covered by Google's privacy policy, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. We also record visits ourselves (pages, device, IP address) to spot repeated or fraudulent clicks on our adverts.
6. How long we keep it
We keep invoices, payment records and the customer details on them for six years after the end of the financial year they belong to, as the law requires for our accounts. Other information, such as call records, voicemails, shared locations and job photos, we keep only for as long as we need it to deal with your job, any warranty or complaint, and our records, and then delete it.
7. Keeping it safe
Our business system is only open to our own staff, each with their own login, and only for what their job needs. Backups are encrypted.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop or limit how we use it, or to send it to you or someone else in a usable form. Some of these have limits — for example we have to keep invoices for our accounts — and we'll tell you if one applies. Email contact@tyreemergency.com or call 01623 325123; we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Our connection to Google
Our own business system connects to our own Google Ads account, with our permission, to show us how our adverts are doing and to turn them on and off. It reads only our advertising account, not information about anyone else's Google account.
10. Changes
We'll update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top says when it last changed.
